Terms of service

Who you are contracting with

Oryx Connect is provided by ORYX SPECIALIZED DETAILING AUTO ACCESSORIES FITTING L.L.C, a limited liability company registered in Dubai under trade licence 1646993, issued by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. Its registered address is Warehouse WH-06, Talal Hamid Abdulla Belhoul property, Dubai Investment Park 2, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In these terms “we” and “us” mean that company.

What the service is

Oryx Connect is a private record of the vehicles you own: their details and photographs, an estimate of their value, their service history and schedule, the documents you choose to store, and the reminders that go with them. The mobile application is free to download. A subscription is required to add to your records.

Valuations are estimates, and nothing more

Every valuation shown in Oryx Connect is an estimate produced from the information available to us, and every one is displayed with its source, the number of comparable vehicles it was derived from, and a confidence indication. It is not an appraisal, a guarantee of sale price, an insurance valuation or professional advice. We make no representation that any vehicle can be bought or sold at a figure the service shows. Decisions you take on the basis of a valuation are yours.

Service records and documents are yours

You own the content you put into the service and you are responsible for its accuracy. We store it so that you can use it, and we do not sell it, publish it, or share it with anyone else except as described in the privacy notice. A record you enter is a record of what you say happened; it is not verified by us unless the service explicitly marks it as verified, and a verification records what was checked and when.

Your subscription

Subscriptions are sold on this website and are billed in UAE dirhams by us through Stripe. A new subscription begins with a free trial of 30 days. Your payment method is taken when the trial starts and is not charged during it. At the end of the trial the subscription begins and renews automatically for the period you chose, until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from your account page, which opens Stripe’s billing portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep full access until that period ends.

If a payment fails

If a payment fails we keep your access fully open for fourteen days and show you that something needs attention. After fourteen days your account becomes read-only: you can still open the app, read every record, photograph and document you have stored, and export them. You cannot add new ones until the subscription is restored.

We do not delete your content because a payment failed. That is a commitment, not a courtesy, and it is enforced in our database rather than left to policy: the rule that gates writing does not gate reading.

Ending your account

You can delete your account, and everything in it, from within the app at any time. The deletion is immediate and it is not reversible. Some records of a commercial dealing with us — a booking we carried out, an invoice we issued — are kept in an anonymised form because we are required to keep them; they no longer identify you.

We may end or suspend an account that is used unlawfully, that attempts to interfere with the service or with other people’s data, or that is used to store content we are not permitted to hold. Where we do, we will tell you why and give you a reasonable opportunity to export what you have stored.

What we do not promise

We work to keep the service available and correct, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every figure or reminder it produces is accurate. Service intervals are indicative and are not a substitute for your manufacturer’s schedule or a qualified technician’s judgement. Registration, insurance and inspection reminders are a convenience; keeping a vehicle legal on the road remains your responsibility.

Limits on our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability to you arising out of the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or opportunity.

Changes

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and you may cancel if you do not accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction.
